Care for Your Brush with These 4 Toothbrush Tips

Posted .

After days and nights of brushing and scrubbing, it is very important to take good care of your toothbrush. To have the cleanest and best toothbrush possible, we recommend following the provided toothbrush tips:

1. Clean your toothbrush after each use by rinsing it in warm tap water and washing away the toothpaste and debris. If you wish to deeply clean your brush, you can soak it in antibacterial mouthwash, clean it with an ultraviolet light, or put it through the dishwasher. Also, please deeply clean your brush after you have been sick.

2. Properly store your toothbrush after you brush your teeth by placing it in an upright position in a cup or toothbrush holder. Please make sure it is in a place where the bristles can dry out, like on your bathroom counter. If you decide to use a toothbrush cover, please use a cover that allows air to circulate through. If the cover is completely sealed, there is a high chance that your bristles will harbor bacteria and become molded.

3. Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months. It is also best to replace your brush after the bristles begin to wear or after you have been sick. This advice applies to both manual and electric toothbrushes. If you have an electric toothbrush, you only need to replace the head rather than the entire brush.

4. Do not share your toothbrush with anyone—not even your family members. If you do, saliva and bacteria can transfer and create tooth decay.
