Islam Saleh, DMD, MS, MSc

Dr. Saleh is a board-certified periodontist with advanced training in periodontal and implant dentistry. He earned his doctoral degree in 2007 from Misr University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Giza, Egypt, where he also completed 1 year in general practice residency. He later received a Master of Science in Stomatology from the University of Granada in Spain in 2017.
Following a fellowship at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Dr. Saleh pursued specialty training at Nova Southeastern University in Florida earning both a Certificate in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and a Master of Science in 2023.
In 2024, Dr. Saleh achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery—a distinction held by less than one-third of all practicing Periodontists.
Dr. Saleh began his clinical career at a prominent practice in Virginia, where he performed both simple and complex procedures, including full-arch dental implant cases (utilizing Straumann implants) and a wide range of periodontal treatments.
He later returned to the Midwest and now practices at Fox River Periodontics, where he is dedicated to helping patients feel confident and cared for through expert periodontal and implant treatments. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including:
- American Academy of Periodontology (AAP)
- American Dental Association (ADA)
- International Team of Implantology (ITI)
Dr. Saleh is also fluent in Spanish besides his native tongue -Arabic. Outside of the office he enjoys photography, chess, pickle ball, swimming, cycling and exploring new places in the city.

Kendra – Office Manager & Public Relations
Kendra has been an integral part of Fox River Periodontics since April 2015. A certified medical assistant and certified medical coder, she brings extensive experience from her previous roles in occupational health and orthopedics. With over seven years of leadership in the medical field before joining the practice, Kendra ensures every patient receives compassionate, respectful, and personalized care.
Kendra loves the warm, family-oriented atmosphere of the office and values the teamwork and genuine care that define the practice. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, reading, camping, and spending quality time with her family.
Jamie – Patient Relations Coordinator & HR
Jamie has been a dedicated staff member of Fox River Periodontics since 1999. She spent her first ten years as a surgical assistant before transitioning into her current role as Patient Relations Coordinator
In this position, Jamie is the friendly voice patients often hear first — greeting patients, answering phone calls and scheduling appointments. She is dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, attentive, and respectful care throughout their experience.
Jamie loves being part of a close-knit team that feels like family. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her daughter who is in college, and her son who is in high school.
Lisa – Patient Coordinator
Lisa joined the team at Fox River Periodontics in September 2025. She comes with many years of experience from her previous job as an office manager for an elite Orthodontic and Pediatric office. With eight years of expertise in dental insurance management, she is a valuable asset to our team.
Lisa currently resides in DeKalb with her husband Nick. In her time off, she travels to spend as much time as possible with her three kids, loves to walk her two dogs – Goose and Woody, tries to visit as many beaches as possible, and still cheers for the Chicago Cubs.
Nina – Surgical Assistant
With over 10 years of experience as a dental assistant, Nina is passionate about creating a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. She loves helping others feel confident in their smiles and enjoys being part of a caring, dedicated team.
Outside of the office, Nina stays active at the gym and cherishes cozy days at home with her family and her dog, Kai.
Chelsea – Surgical Assistant
Chelsea began her journey in the dental field in 2018. She became a certified dental assistant through Kishwaukee College. Her passion for the dental world continued to grow while she gained experience as an assistant in general dentistry and oral surgery.
She was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program at Rock Valley College in 2023 – only 20 applicants are chosen out of approximately 90. She graduated in May 2025 and is excited to bring the knowledge she gained from the accredited program to Fox River Periodontics. It is important to her to provide the utmost care while making her patients feel comfortable.
Chelsea enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, swimming, and is an animal lover.
Kamy Noruzi, DMD
Dr. Kamy Noruzi was a Board Certified Periodontist who has been providing cosmetic periodontal and dental implant treatment to patients for over 33 years. Dr. Noruzi earned his undergraduate degree at Farleigh Dickinson University in 1982 and dental degree at Farleigh Dickinson School of Dental Medicine in 1986. Following dental school Dr. Noruzi completed a general practice residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City, NY. He then completed a post graduate program in Periodontics at the University of Illinois-Chicago School of Dentistry where he later served as an assistant professor of Periodontics.
In 1997, Dr. Noruzi was granted Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology. A Diplomate is a periodontist who has successfully completed a rigorous examination process and is certified by the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Noruzi was a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, Illinois State Dental Society, Institute for Dental Implant Awareness, Past President of the Fox River Valley Dental Society and Geneva Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Noruzi resided in the area with his wife and their dog, Zeus.
