Periodontal disease causes many patients to suffer from loss of bone and connective tissue. Today, through Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR) Dr. Noruzi can replace previously lost ligament fibers below the gum as well as supportive bone. GTR involves the placement of a synthetic membrane over the bone so that lost tissue can be regenerated between the tooth roots. A bone graft may be used in conjunction with this procedure.
